About the Event
The Asian Festival features display booths showcasing crafts and trivia, cultural performances and demonstrations, interactive activities like hand henna-painting and Japanese origami paper-folding, regional cuisine, and a bazaar where trinkets and souvenirs can be purchased.
Through this festival, which is usually held in May to coincide with Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Erie APAA hopes to promote greater understanding and appreciation of the cultural diversity of Asia.
The first Asian Festival was held in 2007 at Mercyhurst University. It has since been held in various venues across the city such as Gannon University's Hammermill Center and Rainbow Gardens at Waldameer Park.
